I am adding this book to my “must read” list. As we progress through this class things are dove-tailing together. How to be an effective team leader AND how to create an effective team is really making sense and even seems achievable.
Most certainly, I have much to learn, but my goals for getting there seem achievable.
Although I feel that I have some of the habits fairly under-control I will be focusing on the following:
- Begin with the end in mind: Although I begin this way, sometimes it is easy to get caught up in the everyday challenges that I have to take a step back and remind myself of the end product: the final goal.
- Seek first to understand, then to be understood: Listen, listen, listen. An immediate solution is not always necessary. Sometimes just listening is the best response. This is what I love best about my conversations with my Grandmother therefore, this is what I should practice!
- Sharpen the saw: take time for myself. I know that if I feel good about myself, my choices, my actions…then I am much more productive at work and at home.
